FAQ

Below are some frequently asked questions and basic information about us and our services.

When can we hire your equipment?

Epic Inflatables operates 7 days a week between the hours of 6am- 5pm as a general guide.

We can provide bookings outside of these hours but they are by appointment only and price may differ from a standard daytime hire. Please note we are not an events company. We do not offer our equipment for larger events, carnivals, public events or festivals.

Where can we hire you equipment?

We service the whole of South Australia, mainly the metropolitan Adelaide area but also service as far as Murray Bridge, Victor Harbour and far north as Nuriootpa regularly. County jobs are no problem, just subject to travel costs. Interstate jobs are also possible but by appointment.

Do you provide Staff or Supervision? Do we monitor it ourselves?

Epic have experienced supervisors for our inflatable amusements. Supervision is not a requirement for most hiresbut is often needed for certain types of hires. Additional charges apply for supervision.

On top of this we have a first class Self Supervision system which provides the hirer with all the safety information they need to supervise the equipment safely themselves. We also run you through upon set up. .

Are you Insured?

Yes we certainly are, public liability certificate is available to all booked clients via email. We suggest you always sight an operators cert currency as many are not insured altogether, or their cover doesn't extend to the operation they are performing.

We also have all staff DCSI clearances for working with children.

Why Use Epic?

We have nearly 10 years experience in running a inflatable party hire business serving schools, private clients and corporate clients. We are professional and reliable. Our equipment is kept in fantastic condition and complies with Australian Standards.

We can hands down say we are the safest operators, the most experiences and have brand new, clean and extremely fun inflatables. You will find dealing with us very easy and rewarding!

We can provide our risk management plan, risk assesments for every type of equipment on offer and have documented procedures in place to ensure a safe operation.

What do we need to have it set up?

The size of the area required for all our hire items is listed on the website. Our inflatables range in size from 4x4m up to 40m! All we need is clean, flat ground to set up on. Generally grass best for set up or indoors in gyms. We do have generators to supply power to the inflatables, but power access to normal power points is preferable.

Please note: we do not set up inflatables outdoors on hard surfaces.

What is your weather policy?

The weather plays a huge part of inflatable safety. At Epic Inflatables we take the weather very seriously and have a number of protocols around operating inflatables and amusements in different weather conditions.
Under no circumstance should an inflatable device be operated in high wind, extreme heat, during a storm or significant rain. This also applies to other equipment such as pedal karts, anything with an electrical component, mini golf and giant games.
Monitoring of weather conditions:
Epic Inflatables, and those hiring our equipment, are required to monitor the forecast weather for the hire site up to the date of the booking as well as throughout the hire duration.
We use the Bureau Of Meteorology (BOM) app and website to get an accurate indication of expected conditions for the hire. The Bureau Of Meteorology has detailed forecast functions to give an accurate idea for the exact hire location.
On top of BOM app we also use Willy Weather mobile app for current wind readings, gust readings and radar imagery. It presents in an easy to read format and gives real time speeds by setting your location to that of the hire.
Epic Inflatables will air on the side of caution and cancel, move indoors, postpone bookings based on the forecast issued 24hrs prior to the hire. In the event we are already onsite and the weather conditions seem worse than what is forecast or showing on the apps, we reserve the right to cancel the booking at any stage based on years’ experience.
Monitoring of weather conditions during hire:
Epic Inflatables require the hirer to monitor the conditions throughout the hire on the suggested platforms mentioned. We require the hirer to be immediately contactable during the hire via mobile phone. Epic monitors the radars during every hire and will advise immediately if conditions are set to change and equipment needs to be shut down.
Heat:
Inflatables made from PVC can become extremely hot if exposed to high temperatures and full sun. This particularly applies to open roof inflatables exposed to the sun. This creates a risk for children to get vinyl burns, heat stroke, exhaustion etc from playing in a very hot environment. We will always evaluate the forecast prior to the hire if any adjustments or cancellations need to occur.
Epic Inflatables reserve the right to cancel bookings during extreme heat. We consider extreme heat to be over 37 degrees Celsius.
Rain:
Rain is mostly a concern if it is either constant throughout the hire or forecast for heavy falls and downpours. Epic considers constant light rain and any forecast over 5mm during the hire to be grounds to cancel the booking or move indoors.
Inflatables and other amusements should not be operated in rain due to the slippery nature of the equipment. Vinyl can become very slippery when wet which poses a hazard for slips and falls.
The electric components of the inflatable or amusement also pose a safety risk if operated in the wet.
In the event of rain please remove all riders from the hire equipment. Shut off the equipment at the blower and powerpoint.
Once the rain has passes follow the ‘Daily Inspection Checklist’ on the previous page as well as wiping the inflatable out fully so that all the surfaces are dry. Check the electrics are dry and wipe off any additional water from the blower and cord joings (while the power is off).
Wind: EXTREMELY IMPORTANT
All inflatables must not be operated in high winds! The maximum wind speed for inflatable devices is 40km per hour.
It is important to regularly monitor the wind and the wind speed forecasts for the duration of the hire. It is important to take into account the direction of the wind and the speed of the gusts which can often be quite irregular and much higher than the wind speed.
Epic Inflatables will always monitor the wind speed during hires and we suggest the customer does the same by using Willy Weather App (and setting it to your location) and by using the Bureau of Meteorology ‘detailed forecast’ and setting it to your location.
Both these apps will give you hourly predictions of wind speed and gusts as well as real time readings. We suggest downloading them prior to hire and familiarizing yourself with them well. If you need assistance please ask us on set up we are happy to help. Please find the links below:

https://wind.willyweather.com.au/
Epic Inflatables reserve the right to not set up in high winds, even if the wind speed is below the 40km we may elect to cancel due to location, varying wind speeds, anticipated gusts etc. We will never put you in a ‘it’ll probably be alright’ situation. We tend to air on the side of caution.
Thunderstorms, Hail & Lightening:
Epic will not operate if thunderstorms, hail and/or lightening are forecast to occur during a hire. This poses significant safety risks to those using the equipment.
